Please help, I'm barely eating and not losing weight!!
Hi BAF family,
I have been around lurking for a while...posted once. I am 7 weeks post-op and have not lost but 2lbs in the last three weeks! What am I doing wrong? I am still searching for a protein supplement that I can tolerate. I have become lactose intolerant since my surgery and soy milk tastes awful to me, but I take my vitamins - all except the calcium (still looking for a good chewable cuz the crushing ain't working).
The dietician told me that I'm not eating enough or frequently enough to lose weight. I eat at least twice daily and try to eat more, but I'm not hungry.
Please, if you have any advice, I would love to hear it.

your body is starving. you won't lose unless you eat.
crazy, trippy, difficult to accept --- but true, nonetheless.
try to find fruit flavored protein shots - they may be more palatable.

I agree with Mack Mama, you are not taking in enough calories so your body believes ( and it is) starving so it holds on to every single calorie it gets to protect the vital organs. Add more calories/protein and continue with the other necessary things ie. exercise, drinking water, supplements and you will begin to loose again.
Both Glam and Mack are right
If your body is starving, it wont burn fat. It will hold onto it as a source of energy, dont keep yourself from eating so you can lose weight. Eventually your body will start to get tired and your metabolism will slow down and that's not good. If u cant find a protein drink that u like, try adding BeneProtein into your drinks and food. U can find it at most drug stores. Its a powder thats tasteless.

Ditto, what everyone else has said. As far as protein goes....I never liked the "milky" type protein shakes.
What worked for me was the Syntrax Nectar protein brand. They come in fruity flavors that you can mix with SF Kool-Aid, Crystal Lite, or jus****er. That's what got me through. I believe Wal-Mart sells a chewable Calcium Citrate, if not try the Vitamin Shoppe.
Best of luck to you!
